Engineer Teresa Karani is the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager at KenGen PLC, where she leads the design, operation and maintenance of electrical and control systems across the company’s generation fleet. With over two decades of experience in power generation, she provides strategic oversight for automation systems integration, grid reliability enhancement and modernization of plant control infrastructure to support KenGen’s energy transition agenda.
A registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), and a corporate member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), Eng. Karani also holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi, a Diploma
in Geothermal Utilization from the United Nations University in Iceland, and a Certificate in Senior
Leadership Development from the Kenya School of Government.
She is also an alumnus of the Executive Training on Female Future Leadership Development Programme by the Federation of Kenya Employers and the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) and a proud alumnus of the Loreto Limuru High School.
