Lilian Ogombo

Secretary of the World Energy Council Kenya Chapter

Eng. Lilian Ogombo was elected as the Secretary of the Energy Society Kenya (ESK) in December 2021, and formally assumed this role in January 2021. ESK acts as Kenya’s Member Committee for the World Energy Council. In her role as Secretary, Lilian is responsible over the day to‐day management of ESK affairs and serves as a link among the ESK Secretariat, the board and the stakeholders in the Energy Industry. She also serves as the primary liaison of the Member Committee and WEC Secretariat.

 

Lilian has over 15 years of leadership experience in Kenya’s energy sector having held various leadership roles in both public and private sectors. She has previously served as the principal in charge of Engineering at Aga Khan Health Services, where she led the process of greening Aga Khan hospitals and reducing their emissions. Prior to that, she served as a Pioneer Chief Officer – Energy and Mining at the County Government of Kisumu. She has also held various Leadership positions in East Africa’s Oil and Gas Industry.

 

Lilian holds a Master of Science degree in Energy Studies from University of Dundee, United Kingdom; and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Civil Engineering from University of Nairobi, Kenya. She is a Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) and a Member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). She is passionate about energy progression and transitioning to a low carbon energy future. Her current focus is working with Consulting Engineers in the Transportation space in designing Infrastructure that caters for E- vehicles (Green lanes and Charging Stations).
